Young Sri Lankan Maid Beheaded in Saudi Arabia
It is truly appalling in this day and age that a story like this breaks out of the Middle East, thus furthering our Barbaric image to the western world.
A young Sri Lankan maid was beheaded in Saudi Arabia for apparently suffocating therefore, killing a baby that was left in her care.
Rizana Nafeek, was detained and arrested in 2005 for her apparent crime which she committed as a minor at (17 years old).
Despite world wide appeals and human rights groups trying to sway the Saudi government to not execute the girl, being it a violation against international codes governing minors, it seemed to fall on deaf ears.

Appeals by the Sri Lankan government were also rejected and Nafeek was executed in the town of Dawadmy, near the capital Riyadh, on Wednesday morning.
The Saudi interior ministry said she was found guilty for smothering the child, after an argument with her employer.
With no access to lawyers during her trial, the international media and human rights groups are calling for action to be taken against the Saudi government.
