Veiled Model Appears in H&M’s New Fall Campaign

While Islamophobia keeps on growing, an international brand stands out and accepts Muslims as human beings rather than terrorists.

Last week, H&M released their latest denim fall collection and, to everyone’s surprise, the campaign featured a Muslim woman wearing her hijab as well as Sikh men wearing turbans.

Since the hijab, turbans and beards have been icons people have come to fear rather than accept, this is an act of revelation and definitely something we all applaud H&M for doing.

It is comforting to know that in a world where Muslims are looked down upon and scapegoated for the acts of a minority, that an international brand as big as H&M took one step forward to making us feel accepted and letting us as well as the world know that we are not being judged or discriminated against for our beliefs or choice of religion.

What does this mean for Muslims? We’re not quite sure, but we’re definitely rejoicing!

WE SAID THIS: Hats off, H&M!
