UAE Uses Drones to Prevent Suicide from Tall Buildings
Because the UAE obviously needs to be the first at everything, it’s no surprise that the Sharjah Police just announced that they’re going to use sakhab. What’s that? It’s a drone designed to prevent suicide from tall buildings.
“The drone was launched for security purposes. This year alone, 23 suicide attempts have been reported from various parts of Sharjah,” Omar Bu Khalifa, director of the legal applications and technical support, told Khaleeji Times.
The drone is equipped with 4k cameras that can help detect any sudden movements from the person attempting suicide, and it functions at a speed of 45kmph. Not only that, sakhab also has fitted with a SIM card inside to help the cops communicate and negotiate with the person.
