UAE Passport Maintains Its Position Among the World’s Most Powerful

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has long been recognized as a global hub for business, tourism, and culture. It is a country that values its international standing and has worked hard to promote itself as a welcoming destination for people from all around the world. One of the key factors that contribute to the UAE’s global reputation is its passport.

According to the recently released Henley Passport Index, the UAE passport has maintained its position as the strongest in the region and has improved its global ranking. The UAE has climbed three spots to become the 12th most powerful passport in the world. This is a significant achievement and highlights the efforts of the UAE government to strengthen its international relations and promote its global image.

This also means that UAE passport holders can now travel to 179 countries without a visa. This number has increased from 178 countries at the end of last year and 176 countries in July 2022. This is a testament to the UAE’s commitment to enhancing its relationships with countries around the world and promoting international travel.

Dr. Christian H. Kaelin, Chairman of Henley & Partners, praised the UAE for its remarkable progress in visa-free travel. He noted that the UAE has added an impressive 107 destinations to its visa-free score since 2013. Over the course of ten years, the UAE has climbed an impressive 44 places in the ranking, moving up from 56th to 12th position. This is almost double the next biggest climber, Colombia, which has risen 28 places in the ranking to reach the 37th spot.

The Henley Passport Index is a ranking of all the passports of the world according to the number of destinations their holders can access without a prior visa. It is based on data provided by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and is updated in real-time throughout the year. The index is a valuable tool for travelers, businesses, and governments to assess the strength of their passports and the level of access they provide to the global community.
