Transformation Through Art: Social Club Prada Mode Is Coming To Dubai Featuring Artist Damien Hirst

Dubai is set to welcome the eighth global iteration of the traveling social club Prada Mode next month according to Emirates Women. With a focus on contemporary culture, Prada will host a unique art experience on Nov. 9 and 10 taking place at ICD Brookfield Place Business Center which will include music, dining conversations, as well as an installation entitled Pharmacy by artist Damien Hirst.

Vogue suggested that this project will see ICD Brookfield Place transformed into a special location featuring art, music, and conversations over food besides some of Hirst’s iconic pieces. Members can anticipate life-size molecule models, wallpaper modeled by prescription drug catalogs, floor-to-ceiling medication cabinets, and much more.

Hirst stated:

I’m thrilled and honored to be invited by Miuccia Prada to recreate Pharmacy for Prada Mode in Dubai after our successful collaboration in Moscow as I’m working really hard with a complicated but beautiful space, ICD Brookfield Place, to create harmony between the inside and outside of the new building.

Damien Hirst’s Pharmacy was first displayed in 1992 at the Cohen Gallery in New York. In 1998, the artist opened a functional restaurant version of the piece in Notting Hill, London, for which Miuccia Prada created the staff outfits according to Vogue.

After its first session in Miami in 2018, this is the first time the traveling social club has visited the Middle East. Prada Mode has visited Hong Kong, London, Paris, Shanghai, Moscow, and Los Angeles since its debut four years ago as per Emirates Women. The newest edition of Prada Model in Dubai will feature early access to the club for members to participate in morning and afternoon panels and discussions as well as nightly events.
