Tourists in Hurgahda Arrested for Being Porn Stars

Do we hysterically laugh at this piece of absurd news, or lower our heads to the ground and cry in shame? You tell us what you think about this little debacle?

Whilst frolicking on the beach taking pictures, 12 Georgian tourists were mistaken to be porn stars and arrested! An Egyptian security officer arrested the whole group in Hurgahada earlier this week, assuming they were filming a porn film. Because being at the beach, wearing your bikini’s and bathing suits is unusual behavior on the Red Sea!

According to AlArabiya.net, “The tourists, a group of men and women in Hurghada, who had been diving and filming their dives when spotted by security then (were arrested for indecent behavior), and were released on Sunday after police found nothing illegal in the recordings.

“These tourists were diving and shooting the beautiful aquatic flora and fauna. The security officer had wrongly assessed the situation due to his inexperience,” a spokesperson for Egypt’s tourism minister said, according to local media reports.

Well boys and girls what did we learn from this lesson, if your in Egypt filming/taking pictures for a swimwear look book, and have models with you, you just may be landing yourselves for a ride through Egypt’s prison system.

The good news is, the incident is over now, the Hurghada Police apologized, and the crew has gone back to filming their look book in Hurghada.
