Taste of Dubai Highlights
This weekend marked the seventh year of Dubai’s annual food festival, Taste of Dubai. The festival took place from March 13-15 at Dubai Media City and was jam-packed with the region’s favorite food, drinks and music. A foodie heaven!
The rain put a little damper on the weekend, as festival goers struggled not to get soaked but that didn’t scare of the crowds. There were points where it was difficult to move around from the amount of people. This was by far one of the most crowded years.
There were cooking demonstrations as well as cooking classes that drew lots of attention. The Act Dubai, a popular Peruvian restaurant and nightclub, hosted a cooking class where the Executive Head Chef Roberto Segura taught participants to make a popular dish, ceviche salmon.
Celebrity chefs Eric Lanlard and Jean-Christophe Novelli headlined on stage at the Chefs’ Theater, along with 30 other chefs. Pussycat Doll, Nicole Sherzinger also made an appearance at the festival.
Other participating restaurants included Asado Argentinan Grill, located at the Palace downtown (which I’ve tried and it’s delicious!), Ruth Chris Steakhouse, Royal Orchid, Gaucho, The Gramercy and more.
The drinks were flowing as live music entertained the crowds. I’d say another successful year for the Taste of Dubai.
Rain or shine, give people food, drinks, and music, and you’ve got a happy crowd.
WE SAID THIS: Definitely looking forward to next year!
