Tagamo3 Finally Has Its Own Movie Theatres: Point 90 Cinemas
Living in Tagamo3 has made me a couch potato, introvert and just not willing to ever leave Tagamo3… ever! I mean why would we? We have malls, restaurants, schools, universities, jobs and pretty much everything… except a cinema. Until now.
For a cinema junkie like me who goes to the movies at least twice a week, heading to Heliopolis was always a hassle, but was worth it, because I got to go to one of my favourite places: the movies. That didn’t stop me from cursing, complaining and whining throughout the entire journey to and from Heliopolis about the endless za7ma and wondering when someone was going to grace us with a movie theatre in Tagamo3!
Then Point 90 made my dream come true and within days of their opening, everyone had messaged me rejoicing about the great news.
Point 90 Cinemas is located in front of AUC’s New Campus Gate 4 entrance and is pretty hard to miss. It’s a modern building that still has that look, smell and cleanliness of something that has just opened, even though it has been almost three months.
With eight screens available, they usually have the latest movies playing. It is obvious that the owners were focused on making this movie theatre an entire new experience from all the little details they put into consideration.
While in most cinemas, soon-to-be-out movies are shown in posters hung on the walls, at Point 90 Cinemas, they have screens that alternate between movies with some really cool effects.
And although popcorn is a must, they also offer soft serve ice cream (you have to try the white chocolate sauce!), cotton candy, slush, coffee and even nachos as well as all the other packets of crisps and chocolate bars you’d find elsewhere.
Going into the theatre, ready with my popcorn, water bottle and ice cream in hand, I found that the theatre is divided into two sections rather than the usual three, which meant that wherever we were seated, we’d get a good view of the screen.
The chairs were big, comfortable and the spacing between the rows allowed for the perfect amount of leg space. And because the little things matter, I was so happy that the chairs had a place for my water bottle and ice cream!
The quality of the movie was sensational and the 3D was one of the best I’ve seen. It really did feel like I was part of the movie, surrounded by the characters. Even the 3D glasses had a cool design and came in white as well as black colours.
During the recess, I headed to the bathroom and though I usually dread using bathrooms outside home, I was baffled at how clean and stylish it actually was. It has an elegant touch to it and if I wasn’t so eager on not missing any second of the movie, I would’ve definitely taken a bathroom selfie!
Although I did not enjoy my popcorn as much as usual, the ice cream and nachos my friends had ordered made up for it and my cinema experience was completed with delight.
Thank you, Point 90 Cinemas, for making me never have to leave Tagamo3 again… ever!
