The Internet has gone crazy over one of the world’s most expensive bras (yup, there are actually more expensive ones). Naturally, we’ve put our Nancy Drew outfit on to find out more, and stumbled upon Mouawad.
If you happen to not know anything about Mouawad, let us enlighten you. It is a privately held Swiss and Emirati luxury goods company that makes fashion accessories, jewelry, and retail company. It also sources diamonds and gemstones, designs, manufactures, and sells jewelry collections, objects of art, and luxury watches. It was founded in Lebanon in 1891, and is now run by fourth generation co-guardians.
It was just announced that the Swiss-Emirati company is set to design the Champagne Nights Fantasy Bra for the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show — taking place in Shanghai at the end of November. The $2m bra is the 10th bra Mouawad has designed for Victoria’s Secret.
This year, beautiful Brazilian model Laid Ribeiro is going to wear the coveted piece following from the likes of Adriana Lima, Heidi Klum, Gisele Bündchen, Lily Aldridge, Alessandra Ambrossio, Tyra Banks and many more.
It took 350 hours to set 6,000 white diamonds, yellow sapphires, blue topazes in 18-carat yellow gold for the bra and matching belt.
