Summer Is Right Round the Corner So Here Are Some out-of-the-Box Activities to Do by the Beach
It’s almost summertime here in Egypt, and everybody is readying themselves for their yearly excursions, and with many choosing beaches to escape Cairo’s suffocating heat to, we thought it would be a good idea if we weighed in with several new, out-of-the-box ways to have a good time.
Egypt is blessed with two coasts lining two of the world’s most beautiful seas, the Mediterranean and the Red. Indeed, we have some of the most awe-inspiring, gorgeous beaches in the world, so why not make the best of it?
Without further delay, here are some creative activities to do at Egypt’s most renowned beaches.
Beach Frisbee
One of the most fun things you can do by the beach is a friendly game of ultimate frisbee. It is very easy to play, and all you need is a frisbee disk and a group of friends.
The beauty of the North Coast’s pristine beaches would serve best. Picture yourself enjoying such a game by the Mediterranean’s beautiful blue waters, white sands, and good vibes.
Water bucket relay
This one is fun for both kids and adults. It’s a race, but instead of the traditional egg and spoon, you run with water. Each contestent is given a spoon or a small cup which they fill with water, then they run to empty it into a bucket. Whoever fills their bucket first wins.
Fly a kite
There are few things more soothing than flying a kite. It’s a fun, simple activity that brings joy and an appreciation for nature. There are many articles on the internet that will show you how to make your own kite, but if you are not one for arts and crafts, you can always buy one from any convenience store.
Beach treasure hunt
This one is the ultimate activity for those who like games with a more competitive edge. One or two people hide a “treasure” and come up with clues for the other participants on how to find it.
Mini Golf
With just a few golf balls and some holes dug in the sand, you, your friends and family can have an unforgettable experience. Golf is a beautiful game of patience and persistence, and when it’s played by the beach, it’s a casual and laid back experience. Remember to work on your long game before getting to the sandy course.
Hurghada is the perfect place for a game of mini golf with its serene, azure-tainted horizons and pristine beaches.
Build a beach obstacle course
Build a few sand castles, some watery moats, add to the mix unwanted towels, a few holes, and some ropes to jump over and you have yourself an obstacle course. It’ll be even more fun if you add your creative rules like throwing a few rocks in the water to be able to continue or jumping a few times on one foot.
One of the best places with an unparalleled view of the Mediterranean Sea beautiful, white sands is Almaza Bay. It is a place nestled somewhere between imagination and reality, and it would be the perfect place for you to build that obstacle course with your friends.
Create a sand canvass
You start by flattening and smoothing out a large area in the sand using your hands and feet, then all you need is your hands, a few sticks, and your imagination. Try drawing something from nature and then decorating it with things you find on the beach.
Race down a makeshift river
This doesn’t take place on an actual river, of course. You just dig a waterway through the sand a few steps from the shoreline and add some water to create a running stream. Now that you have your course, you can drop some light objects like leaves or twigs and see which ones travel the quickest.
Jam around a bonfire
By night, you and your friends can light up a bonfire, sit in a circle, and start jamming and singing. You don’t have to be a musician to do it. All you need is a list of songs, a simple beat, and some volunteers.
There are few places in Egypt that would be better suited for this activity than Cavo Sokhna. The destination is a true reflection of the Red Sea’s hidden beauties. The luxury units are carved into a secluded mountain top in Ein El Sokhna. Imagine singing with friends under a starry night sky comforted by a cool seaside breeze. What more can you ask for?
Sundial
Sundials used to be how people told the time many many years ago. Make your own by the beach. It’s a fun, easy activity to do with little ones.
