Succeeding Mr. Jon Casson, Sir Geoffrey Adams to be the new UK Ambassador in Egypt
While the previous term of the British Ambassador John Casson was fascinating for many Egyptians with his fluent Egyptian Arabic jokes and his explorations of the Egyptian culture, all good things have to end. However, a new term is beginning, with Sir Geoffrey Adams to be the successor to Mr. Jon Casson this September, according to a Wednesday press release by the Foreign Office.
Sir Geoffrey Adams KCMG was the deputy head of mission in Cairo in 1998 till the year 2001, and the 61-year-old served as the Ambassador to the Netherlands from 2013 to 2017, in addition to Hague and Tehran. Also, Sir Geoffrey previously took part in several diplomatic missions to Paris, Jerusalem, Cape Town, and Jeddah.
