Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Dedicates This Year’s Pioneers Award to the UAE’s Frontline Heroes
H.H Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and the Ruler of Dubai, has finally announced the 2020 UAE Pioneers Award that’s going to be solely dedicated to celebrating and honoring the individuals, institutions, and different initiatives that contributed to making the UAE a role model for the region when dealing with the COVID-19 global pandemic.
H.H Al Maktoum invited all Emiratis and residents to nominate anyone they know who had a hand in fighting the virus to be celebrated for their exceptional role with the award using the hashtag #UAE_Pioneers.
The UAE Pioneers Award is an annually organized event that’s considered a part of the country’s National Day Celebrations. It was first launched back in 2014 when H.H Al Maktoum started a hashtag campaign on social media to encourage UAE residents to support and highlight social work in the country.
Last year’s theme was ‘Tolerance’ and more than 3,000 people were actually nominated. Winners were announced by H.H Al Maktoum at the end of the UAE Government Annual Meeting in Abu Dhabi.
