Sharm Al-Sheikh Soon to Transform Itself into A Green City!
The Red Sea resort Sharm al-Sheikh, which is located between the Sinai Peninsula and the Red Sea, will be announced as an environmentally green city soon, according to Egypt’s Environment Minister Yasmin Fouad on Saturday.

Apparently, the $5 million budget project will be provided by the United Nations Development Programme – Regional Bureau for Arab States (UNDP RBAS). The program will support the Environment Ministry to proceed with the preparations of sustainable and environment-friendly cities in Sharm al-Sheikh.

Fouad added that there will be several projects for the green city project including the use of environmental-friendly technology for renewable energies and reuse of water, in addition to waste recycling. The Minister also stressed that such a project will serve Egypt’s interest in achieving sustainable development objectives.
