Sahel Nightlife
Now that Summer is almost over, and people have been acquainted and have endured the hectic nigh life of sa7el’s weekend schedule, what do you guys think so far?
A few years back, there was not that many options when it came to night life in the north coast, friends hung out and ocassionaly hit this new club in this new compound called Marrassi. Now, however, Marassi has become party central, with two of the most prominent party destinations; Tabla and Club M.
Ofcourse every now and then a pop up party comes up or during the week people hit the Andrea beach bar, or the Villa in Bianchi. But Tabla and Club M, are head to head this summer, being down the street from each other, these clubs have people going back and forth from one club, to the other.
Party Planner Ahmed El Ganzoury, has created this exclusive Membership only club with a theme for everyday of the weekend in his spacious, open aired beach club, keeping hiphop lovers happy, commericial lovers happy and, ofcourse, house lovers ecstatic.
On Thursday, he starts off the weekend with Monhara Fel Sahel, an open air Cabaret-like party with commercial Arabic and English music and a show. Whether it is Pusy (ah ya donia) or Sama El Masry, he keeps the elite entertained with an oriental Egyptian guest star. An original of its kind. Thursday is the day where you sing along to every song and literally know every song, English or Arabic. This week in Monhara, Mahmoud El Laithy and DJ Amr Hosny.
Friday, is one for the house lovers. TeaDance, a house themed party with international guest stars and in house DJ’s ToyBoys. Known, for their original mixes and soul /disco house beats, ToyBoys keep you on your feet the whole night. This week at Teadance, ToyBoys have you to themselves for the night!
Saturday, is the night to get jiggy with it. Disco Bel Araby, where DJ Ramy (my personal Favorite) hits up the decks and creates his own mixes of songs you never thought could ever merge! You sing along to all your all time favorite 80’s and 90’s music, but never expect what is coming next, or what it’ll be mixed with! From Back Street Boys, to Daftpunk to Amr Diab and Britney, the guests just dance and leave Dj Ramy do tha talkin! Acts like Hisham Abbas and Aly Himeda, stop by for a blast from the past show, leaving everyone happy and ready to start their work week!
Ahmed Wahdan, Tabla owner, has created a Beirut-like and exclusive vibe on his roof, open aired club bar. With an explicit and commercial English and Arabic play list, people dance all night and mingle with Cairo’s elites. Once the arabic comes on, the belly dancers come on stage and entertain the crowd. Audience enjoy the music, fresh air, huge bar and a show! Early Reservation is a must. The weekend is when Tabla is fully packed, but it is open all week.
Although it might seem like the weekends are repetitive and the same parties are taking place, it is up to you to switch up your schedule and plan your weekend according to your preferable music, and crowd! Personally, Saturdays at Club M are not to be missed!
