On Going Targeting Of Journalists In Gaza Despite IDF Claims Of Protection: Mohamed Balousha Shot & Injured
The Committee to Protect Journalists confirmed the injury of the Palestinian journalist Mohammed Balousha who is known for reporting the story of the four pre mature babies who were abandoned behind at al Nasr Children’s hospital when Israel forced the staff to evacuate without ambulances. The pre mature babies as reported by Balousha, have died and decomposed.
Yesterday Balousha was reported to having received medical aid and taken to a hospital. This is after his sudden injusry on Saturday December 16 when Balousha filmed himself right after being shot by an Israeli sniper in both thighs. His injury came while reporting about the communications blackout in Gaza. In the video he filmed, Balousha was alone bleeding severely with no one to rescue him, and unable to call an ambulance.
The news of Balousha’s death have been reported by The Guardian and Washington Post. According to the CPJ, at least 67 journalists have been killed so far in Gaza since 7 October.
