Multi Million “Egyptian Tourism Promotion Authority” Contract Goes from JWT to a Local Agency

With 2018 coming to an end, a change is going to take place in one of the biggest sectors in Egypt and the change might leave many perplexed. According to Enterprise citing government source on Thursday, the Tourism Promotion Authority (TPA) is not going to renew the yearly contract that will end in 17 of September with the global advertising agency J. Walter Thompson. TPA will be signing with an Egyptian Media Group, Synergy Advertising as a substitution, which is unlike JWT, does not have operations outside Egypt.

The explanation of why the 66-million-contract with JWT will not be renewed is still not revealed. However, there was some tension overpayment over the past year according to Enterprise.

This is Egypt campaign is the latest campaign by JWT, the agency responsible for promoting tourism to Egypt in 27 tourism markets around the worldwide with more than 200 offices worldwide. The Subsidiary agency, which was founded by Tamer Morsi, has become one of the biggest production companies in Egypt in less than 10 years with nine film productions in 2017.
