Ministry of Interior Reveals Why the Prices of Hash and Tramadol Skyrocketed in Egypt
With everything in Egypt having its prices skyrocket, it’s not really surprising to hear about the dramatic increase that has just happened in the prices of several drugs including hash and Tramadol.
Al Masry Al youm interviewed Major General Ahmed Omar, the Assistant Minister of Interior, and the Director of the General Directorate for Drug Control to know more about his take on the matter. Omar stated that the real reason behind new drug prices was merely because of the increase in security in Egypt.
Omar also said that security campaigns were directed at transport vehicles to control drug users.
The price of a strip of Tramadol now is 150 EGP, and the 100 grams of hash that used to cost 2000 EGP are now about 7000 EGP.
