Meet the 104-Year-Old Indonesian Woman Performing Hajj This Year

“Alhamdulillah (Praise be to God), I am going to Mecca, I am going to Hajj,” this is how a 104-year-old Indonesian woman expressed her excitement after she arrived on Saturday in Jeddah.

Ibu Mariah Marghani Muhammad, is thought to be one of the oldest people to perform pilgrimage this year, and the oldest among 221,000 pilgrims from Indonesia. It is quite astonishing what she is doing at her age.

The Indonesian Consulate officials said that Muhammad is healthy enough to perform Hajj rituals without any problems. She was warmly welcomed in Saudi Arabia, according to a spokesman for the Centre for International Communication.

 

 

WE SAID THIS: Saudi authorities estimate that more than 1.5 million pilgrims have landed in the Kingdom to perform Hajj. This year, about two million pilgrims from over 80 countries will be performing Hajj, which is from August 30 to September 4.
