Why Are Media Outlets Live Broadcasting Mahmoud Abdel Aziz’s Funeral?
Egypt has been struck silent by the tragic loss of legendary actor Mahmoud Abdel Aziz. Our news feeds have been nothing but GIFs, memes and scenes of the late actor’s greatest moments and it is heart breaking.
Mahmoud Abdel Aziz was one of those Egyptian actors who was simply loved and admired by everyone, so when news broke last night of his passing, it was only a matter of time for each one of us to express his thoughts in our own ways.
However, what is truly disgusting are the media outlets such as CBC and Youm7 who are unintentionally turning his funeral into a media freak show. There are live videos on Facebook from the hospital where he passed away and during the funeral prayer from inside the mosque. We highly doubt his family agreed to such nonsense. This is the epitome of invading a human’s post-life privacy and showing complete disrespect to his mourning family. Seriously, who wants to be watched by millions crying over his dead father’s body? Have some freakin’ sense people.
