Mashrou’ El-Saada is back, for the fourth time, in Nubia with their amazing use of color therapy. They just finished painting 7 houses and building a kids area, that would take more than 350 children, and they managed to do all that by just using recycled materials!
The project took place from the 25th to the 29th of January 2018, and it was their fourth phase in Nubia. The project took place in Heisa Island, an island that was left for dead after a flood that ruined its beauty and colorful atmosphere 3 years ago.
Hashem Raafat, Founder of Mashrou El-Saada, commented on the project saying, “I am immensely proud of our matchless team, a very diverse group constructed of talented individuals; some of which are students, fresh graduates, and others who have their day jobs, but they all choose to volunteer each year for 5 days on this revival mission. To date, we were able to successfully paint 31 houses, introduce different projects, and workshops that contributes to the island’s ecosystem”
The project also had a three-day brass workshop to support the women of Heisa Island, in order for them to learn how to make handmade jewelry as a new way of generating income.
Mashrou’ El-Saada is a truly inspiring project which started in 2013 with one main goal and it’s to fight the psychological deficit in the society; by using joyful colors to bring happiness to whoever lay eyes on them.
