This French-Syrian Singer Took Over The Internet With Her Magical Voice

Last Saturday night the French-Syrian Singer, Mennel Ibtissem, stole our hearts with her phenomenal performance during the blind auditions of The Voice France. Her performance was posted online and after less than 48 hours the video made more than 400,000 views.

The 22 years old, who is born to a Syrian-Turkish father and Moroccan-Algerian mother, was able to charm all four judges while performing Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah,” and as she was wrapping up, she surprised all of us by switching into an Arabic version of the song replacing Hallelujah with “Ya Ilahi.” Ibtissem chose the Lebanese-born Singer Mika to be her coach.

Ibtissem has previously released four YouTube videos on her own channel, performing piano covers of songs such as ‘Impossible’ by Shontelle, Adele’s ‘Make You Feel My Love’, and ‘Halo” by Beyoncé.

WE SAID THIS: Good-luck Mennel, we hope to see you make it all the way to the finals!
