Portuguese Legend Manuel Jose Takes over Wadi Degla’s Soccer Schools
Last Wednesday, the Egyptian football scene witnessed a massive surprise by Wadi Degla Sporting Club. That announcement included the appointment of sports tycoon Manuel Jose as their new technical adviser for Wadi Degla’s Soccer Schools.
Anyone who knows basic football would tell you that, appointing the Portuguese legend as the technical adviser for Wadi Degla’s Soccer Schools is groundbreaking for so many reasons. Every single Egyptian football fan, without a doubt, knows Jose’s outstanding career, and how his experience will impact the new generation he’ll mentor. This proves Wadi Degla’s strategy to developing generations of talented athletes, who have proudly represented Egypt all over the world.
Wadi Degla is known for focusing on providing sports talents with the best tools that would enable them to excel and reach their full potential; what other way to do so than to hire one of the best coaches in the world. The announcement also included appointing the Portuguese strength and conditioning coach, Fidalgo Antunes, who will be assisting Jose.
For this monumental announcement, the sporting club threw a huge event to tell every sports fan everything they need to know about the major deal. The event took place in a huge football field in Wadi Degla in Maadi, and it was perfectly well-organized — in every single aspect; from the decorations, the lights, the amazing freestyle performances by York, the delicious catering, to the overall organizing of the event! The event hosted a number of prominent sports and media figures.

This was initially achieved through our agreement with the Arsenal F.C football academy, and now by partnering with the veteran football coach, Manuel Jose will lift the school to new heights. Our ultimate goal is to become a model and a hub for developing generations of skilled football players and champions, ” Mr. Hassan el Mistikawy, Chairman of Wadi Degla, said about their decision to sign Jose.
Jose added that he is thrilled to return to Egypt as it marked the most important phase in his career. He is proud to be part of the Soccer Schools experience and to be in charge of the technical advising, supervision and graduation of what he hopes to be new generations of champions and future football legends, inside and outside of Egypt.
