Egyptians are known around the Middle East for their humor and easygoing nature. We’re pretty much the ones people turn to when they want to laugh because ‘Damena Khafeef’ – most of us anyway.

Anyone who is visiting Egypt is expected to be amazed by the history, blown by the culture, and inevitably, be subject to mo3aksat. Yes, if you’re a girl, there’s no getting around it. There’s nothing worse than being compared to the occasional ‘otta’ or ‘bata’.

You can even look like you just crawled out of a hole, and still get comments walking down the street.

While street harassment is something that desperately needs to be stopped, over the years a lot of jokes have come out of the things that people say. These can range from the overused lines, to the truly bizarre ones.

With that, here are 10 of the lamest, most well know Egyptian punch lines we’ve heard:

“Gamalek da wala Gamal Abdel Nasser?”

“Sawb3ek de wala sawabe3 zeinab?”

“Akeed mamtek na7la 3ashan tegeeb el 3assal da kolo”

“Akeed mamtek gamoosa 3ashan tegeeb el eshta de kolaha.”

“Eh da, el amar tele3 badri enaharda?”

“3einek de wala 3ein el sokhna?”

“Halwatek dih wala rasheedi el mizan?

“Ahla wahda om regl wahda.”

“A7la Wahda el labsa gazma burtu2ani”

“Westek da wala west el balad?”
