King Salman Opens Saudi Border for Qatar Hajj Pilgrims
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Haj and Umrah has just confirmed that all pilgrims arriving in the Kingdom to perform Umrah from different countries in the world — including those who came from Qatar.
The decision was made by King Salman bin Abdul Aziz who ordered that the border with Qatar be reopened to allow pilgrims to carry out their annual hajj pilgrimage to Mecca.
This is the first step forward ever since the diplomatic crisis began when Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain and the UAE severed all diplomatic ties with Qatar on June 5.
“Every day, Saudi Arabia proves how big-hearted it is. Qatar’s politicization of the pilgrimage must end following the generous initiative of King Salman. There are matters that are nobler than politics,” he wrote on his Twitter account,” Anwar Gargash, Abu Dhabi’s UAE State Minister for Foreign Affairs, tweeted.
