One highly anticipated construction in the New Capital’s enormous cathedral. According to photos published by Youm 7, the construction phase is over and the dome is currently being molded. The dome of the biggest cathedral in Egypt is 39 meters high with a 40 meters diameter.
The dome solely took 3 months of work with the help of over 1000 workders, technicians and engineers. The praying area is planned to accomodate 12,000 worshipers, where it is four times the size of Abbaseya’s Saint Mark’s coptic orthodox cathedral. The cathedral is located on an area of 7,500 square meters, and expected to be the best designed cathedral in the Middle East.
