While the average Egyptian might find the bakery next door fulfilling, there’s a huge sector in the country suffering at the moment.
Currently, the market will not suffice your needs if you are vegan, gluten-intolerant or on a keto diet. Parents specifically find it increasingly hard to find bakeries that are catered to gluten-intolerant children or any other food restriction.
We recently came across Whole Slice Bakery and we think this will make so many lives easier. The homemade bakeries’ founder, Hannah Altmann, had a dream of unusual baking that would put a smile on customers’ faces.
After working as a pastry chef for a year and a half in a London bakery, Altmann started a one-man-show business where she bakes and delivers.
The online bakery sells vegan, refined sugar-free, dairy-free and gluten-free cakes. These are all bakeries that are incredibly hard to find in Egypt and will come in handy when it’s time for Christians’ fasting.
Another interesting treat is the zucchini carrot muffin with lemon glaze for kids who hate anything remotely healthy. It looks just as delicious as a donut!
All you need to do is choose your guilty pleasure from the tasty menu and order two days in advance.
