Give the Gift of Time This Mother’s Day With Baheya’s Inspiring Breast Cancer Campaign
As an early gift for every mother, Baheya Foundation for Early Detection and Treatment of Breast Cancer, decided to make this mother’s day a special one, in their own special way.
Baheya Foundation launched a campaign, in partnership with Egypt’s National Council for Women, from the 18th of February, to reduce waiting lists from a current average of 45 days to an ideal 21 days. The campaign also aims to collect a total of EGP 21 million in donations and celebrate mother’s day by announcing that the waiting time has been reduced to 21 days for patients.
Baheya’s official Facebook page regularly posts an update with the number of donations it has received since the launch, and how much is left till they reach their goal. In an effort to encourage more people to donate, the slogan of the campaign is, “Your gift to Baheya will bring comfort to every cancer patient.”
A number of celebrities have been supporting the campaign, including Mona Zaki, Amr Youssef, Engy Wegdan, Ahmed Salah Hosny, Hanan Motawie, among others who changed their profile pictures by adding Baheya campaign’s frame to promote it.
Baheya also featured Egyptian actress Nelly Karim in a video promoting the campaign. This is not the first time she supports Baheya. Last year, the Egyptian star celebrated mother’s day along with the fighters at the hospital.
Baheya had previously reduced the waiting time from 90 to 45 days. In five years, Baheya has received over 120,000 women for early detection and treatment of breast cancer.
