Social media has turned into a daily war zone. Everyone is offended by anything that’s remotely different than his/her beliefs. You share a status, meme, or even create your own content and the insults just keep coming.

Yet, there might be a solution for all the online hatred and bullying sooner than we hoped. According to Youm7, Lawyer, Mohamed Ibrahim, stated that insults on social media can cost you a fine of EGP 5,000 to EGP 15,000 according to Article 303 of the Penal Code.

The law states that any insult or offense targeting personal lives, religious contempt, or the President of Egypt is illegal. Allegedly, all you have to do is get a copy of the isult and head to Egypt’s Department of Internet Crime and Information Networks to file a report.

WE SAID THIS: Will this make the Internet more tolerable?
