Egyptian Tech Startup Yumamia Raises $1.5 Million in Investment Round

Tech startups are one of the fastest-growing and booming sectors in the global economy right now. One Egyptian tech startup that is making a statement is Yumamia.

Yumamia is a food delivery app that offers junk-free, healthy food using premium ingredients whilst adhering to the highest standards of hygiene, making clean eating a convenient and affordable food choice. All food is delivered to users in under 60 minutes.

Yumamia just announced they have raised $1.5 million in a pre-series A investment round led by Pure Consulting, a leading Saudi boutique consulting firm. According to the statement, the round takes Yumamia’s total investment raised so far to $2.8mn, making it one of the best-funded startups in Egypt.

The startup was founded by Belal El Borno in 2014. It has recently expanded into corporate catering, adding a business-to-business (B2B) solution.

The financing will be used by Yumamia to fund further expansion in Egypt and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
