Egyptian Ping Pong Champion Makes it to Tokyo 2020 Paralympics

While every Egyptian is currently trying to recover from Egypt’s early elimination from the Africa Cup of Nations, there are still other athletes from other sports that deserve recognition and celebration. Egyptian Ping Pong player, Islam Reda, has won the gold medal in the African championship that took place in Alexandria this week.

The tournament included players from eight countries including Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, Côte d’Ivoire, and South Africa. Many countries participated due to the importance of the championship as it qualifies the winner to participate in the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics.

Other athletes who have qualified for the event include shooting champion Ahmed Zahir Tawhid and modern penathletes Haidy Adel and Sherif Nazeir.
