Egypt Crowned 2nd Best Scuba Diving Destination In The World For The Third Year In A Row!

For the third year in a row, Dive Travel Magazine has crowned Egypt as the second-best scuba diving destination in the world! The magazine stated that Egypt has retained its second-place ranking since 2019. Given that Egypt was still recovering from a large reduction in tourism during the preceding four years prior to the epidemic, this is a remarkable success!

The country’s recent success is due in part to the exceptional loyalty of its visitors, who return year after year to diving hotspots in Sharm El Sheikh, Hurghada, Dahab, and Marsa Alam – to dive in the deep blue Red Sea.

Here are some of the best diving sites for all scuba divers:

Marsa Alam

This coastal village is off the main path for both Egyptians and foreigners, making it an ideal destination for anyone looking to relax and focus on diving and other water activities.

Its best drive spots are Elphinstone Reef, Daedalus Reef, Abu Dabbab, and Dolphin House Reef.

Sharm El Sheikh/Ras Mohammed

According to Dive Magazine, This has been the favorite Egyptian destination for scuba divers and has contributed more to the European dive business than any other place in the world. It’s considered the starting point for many scuba diving expeditions.

Its best dive spots are Dunraven, Kingston, Shark Reef, and Yolanda Reef

Hurghada/El Gouna

Although Hurghada and El Gouna are around 25 kilometres apart, they share many of the same diving locations. Hurghada is today the largest Red Sea resort town on the Egyptian mainland.

Its best dive spots are Giftun Islands, Abu Nuhas reef, and Rosalie Moller.

The Blue Hole in Dahab is undoubtedly Egypt’s most well-known dive site… it’s beautiful – we’ll leave it at that.

Its best dive spots are The Blue Hole, The Canyon, and Eel Garden.

El Qoseir

There are various ecolodges and diving camps on the cliffs overlooking a beautiful stretch of coastline between Hurghada and Marsa Alam in this 5,000-year-old town. There are numerous dive centres to choose from.

Its best dive spot is defiantly El Ikhwa Islands (Brothers’ Islands) who knows what you might find!

Safaga/Soma Bay/ Makadi Bay

The nearby resort towns of Makadi Bay and Safaga are located south of Hurghada, on the same coastline as Hurghada and Marsa Alam.

Its best dive spots are Ras Abo Soma, Abu Kafan, Tobia Reefs, and Panorama Reef

Hamata, Wadi Lahami & The Deep South

These are small coastal communities located just before the protected areas of Shalateen and Halayeb. They are fantastic diving locations that have attracted tourists for many years.

Its best dive spots are St. John’s, Fury Shoals and Rocky Island.

Egypt’s scuba diving spots are all gorgeous and appealing to anyone who wants a unique diving experience.

WE SAID THIS: This is Egypt – a stunning country with fantastic scuba diving opportunities!
