The Egyptian Ministry of Interior has issued a ban on free travel for Egyptian citizens who are seeking to visit a number of countries around the region. They must first submit their passport and get a security clearance from the Egyptian passport authorities to obtain permission to travel, which could take 15-30 days.

According to Al Wafd, Rassd and Today Egypt, the countries are Turkey, Qatar, Lebanon, Jordan, Malaysia and Albania.

According to Middle East Eye, ANSAmed and Youm 7, the countries are Turkey, Qatar, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Libya and Yemen.

According to El Watan and Al Masry Al Youm, the countries are Turkey, Syria, Iraq and Lebanon.

According to Sky News Arabia, the countries are Turkey, Syria, Iraq and Jordan.

According to Al Arabiya, the countries are Turkey, Syria, Iraq and Libya.

Middle East Eye claims that the ban only applies to Egyptian males, ages 18-40, but is exempt for those who have residency in the other countries, those married to foreign nationals, businessmen and official delegations.

Youm 7 claims that if you don’t have the required permit at the airport, you will be taken to airport security and “checked” before receiving permission to travel.

Basically, if you want to travel to any of the above countries, you should check with the Egyptian passport authorities. And if you want to travel to any of the above countries to join ISIS, go by boat instead (NO JUST KIDDING DON’T).
