Dresscode: Egypt’s Leading Online Fashion Store Raises 6 Figure Seed Funding
The Cairo-based e-commerce retail marketplace, Dresscode, announced that it raised a 6 digit USD in seed funding capital, led by Egypt Ventures. The proceeds will be used to maintain the startup’s growth by expanding the team behind it, increasing its inventory, and improving its infrastructure to start offering next and same-day deliveries to customers.
Founded in 2018, Dresscode is a local fashion platform for brands and designers to market and sell their products. It includes modern yet affordable women’s wear, as well as beauty and home products.
“Egypt is a huge market and the textile industry is one of the highest contributors to Egypt’s GDP. We are trying to solve a problem that many manufactures, brands, and suppliers face, which is how is to reach the consumer. Many factories produce great material and products that are exported everywhere in the world, but these factories lack the marketing and branding aspects, hence they go to merchants to sell the products, which take a big portion of their margins,” said Mohamed Abdel Dayem, Co-founder and CEO of Dresscode.
