Did Iran and Kuwait’s Relationship Just Get a Little Stronger After Their Generous Donation of 10 Million Dollars?
Kuwait and Iran’s relationship is growing stronger as recently Kuwait’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Ahmad Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah, has made a generous donation of 10 million dollars to contain the coronavirus epidemic in Iran. The donation was Kuwait’s gesture to voice its solidarity with Iran’s government and its nation during the battle against COVID-19. Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif expressed his gratitude to the Kuwaiti government by stating that the coronavirus epidemic is a global issue that requires international solidarity.
Zarif continued by condemning the US sanctions on Iran and called on Kuwait to actively participate in the global campaign to end and rebel against such inhumane and unilateral sanctions.
Kuwait isn’t the only one who took a step forward to offer humanitarian relief, with countries like Qatar and the United Arab Emirates also reaching out to Iran to help it combat one of the world’s biggest outbreaks.
Head of the World Health Organization (WHO) praised the UAE in general and Abu Dhabi’s Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Zayed, for sending its second humanitarian airlift of medical equipment to Iran, which contained gloves and masks to combat the respiratory virus.
