The 41st edition of the Cairo International Film Festival kicked off last Wednesday, and it has definitely measured up to our high expectations! The prestigious film festival is about more than just the glamorous dresses and suits from the red carpet. It will also feature a number of workshops, masterclasses, and most importantly, artistic movies!

One of the movies that you definitely need to check out during its screening is the award-winning short movie, Dunya’s Day. Directed by the talented Raed Elsemari, Dunya’s Day is the first Saudi movie to ever be shown at the Sundance Film Festival. Not only did it participate, but it won the Jury Award for International Festival.

The movie will be screened on the 26th and 27th of November at The Hanager Theater. Dunya’s Day was shot outside of Riyadh with an all-female cast. It tells the story of a spoiled rich girl called Dunya who plans to throw the perfect graduation party.

WE SAID THIS: Can’t wait to attend the screening!
