Cairo University Goes 100 Ranks Up in Academic Ranking of World Universities
Cairo University is one of the most respected and prestigious universities in the entire region. The university was founded back in 1908 under the name of “Egyptian University” till 1940, and since then, it has educated millions of students for the past 111 years. The university is the top-ranked in Egypt because of its facilities, the number of students, academic research, and dynamic students’ activities platform.
On its latest accomplishments, Cairo University jumped 100 ranks in the Academic Ranking of World Universities. The ranking is issued annually since 2003 by the ShanghaiRanking Consultancy; a fully independent organization dedicated to research on higher education intelligence and consultation.
The consultancy is the official publisher of the Academic Ranking of World Universities since 2009. Cairo University has been maintaining its spot at the 401-500 category for years, but jumped to the 301-400 category this year!
The ranking is one of the toughest and most strict in the world in its criteria. It uses transparent and unbiased methodology in the ranking; taking into consideration the published academic research, how much are they cited, the number of Nobel Prize Winners, etc.
