We Asked 10 Egyptian Women About Their Wrinkles and Here’s What Happened

Over the course of our social media adventures, while we were avoiding all the work we’re supposed to be doing, we noticed something kind of, well, amazing. We stumbled upon Pond’s and their latest campaign that is pushing women to be themselves and never ever to be afraid to express themselves with their tagline, “Expressions leave impressions not lines.”

We got inspired to ask real Egyptian women who are not afraid to talk about their lines and wrinkles. Here’s what they said…

“I stopped obsessing over wrinkles after I hit 50. It became impossible to control them without a face lift, which I’ll never do.”
“I only notice my wrinkles when I put on makeup. Otherwise, I don’t really think about them.”

“I started noticing small lines on my forehead and around my mouth recently and, honestly, it scares me because I’m still in my 20s! But you know what? I’m choosing to see them as evidence of a life fully lived, and I wouldn’t want it any other way.”

“I grew up being told not to laugh too loud or show my anger too much, or else I’d get wrinkles, so I’ve always been conscious about that. As I’ve gotten older, though, I realized that it was more important to speak out and express my emotions and opinions rather than sit down and shut up just because I was worried about getting lines on my face that will come naturally with time, anyway.”

“I’m 56 and I’m totally fine with how I look. I used to be uncomfortable about looking my age, but I’ve come to accept — and even embrace — the ageing process.”

“Who cares?! There are more important things to worry about than a few lines on my face.”

“I do worry about wrinkles, to be honest. But my mama always told me that it’s our inner beauty that really matters, so that’s what I’m trying to focus on.”

“Why should I not laugh or not cry or not be myself? It’s not like holding in my emotions is going to stop me from getting old!”

“I think of my wrinkles somewhat as ‘battle scars’ so I’m actually proud of them. I’m not ashamed to wear my lines because they show experience and wisdom.”

“Sometimes I do wish that I look younger. My skin used to be flawless. But let’s be honest, I’m not a little girl anymore! I haven’t been for a long time. Now I’m in a different stage in my life where it’s normal to have a couple of lines here and there, and they don’t make me any less beautiful.”

WE SAID THIS: Pond’s latest campaign promises to liberate everyone’s expressions, and take care of their lines at the same time. For more info on the revolutionary anti-aging solution product, click here.
