Bassant Hemida Earns Impressive Running Time During Meeting international d’athlétisme de Montreuil

Egypt’s champion sprinter and national record holder in the 100 and 200-meter distances, Bassant Hemida continues her impressive streak as she just nabbed the silver medal at the Meeting international d’athlétisme de Montreuil. She also earned her fastest running time this season of 11.07 seconds during her 100-meter run. Two days before that, she earned her fastest running time this season of 22.67 seconds during her 200-meter run.

Since the start of her career, the athlete has been paving a successful path for herself by winning big tournaments and achieving big records. She was the very first Egyptian athlete to bring home a gold medal for the 100-meter dash during the 2022 Mediterranean Games.

Known to be an athlete with historic achievements, she also got recognized by the United Nations who named her as an ambassador for Egypt’s “Shabab Balad” (Country’s Youth) Initiative. She took on the role and helped to promote education, training and entrepreneurship for Egypt’s youth.

Next up, Hemida shared on her Instagram that she will be heading to the Netherlands to continue competing in this year’s races.
