Amazon’s Head Honcho Buys the Washington Post
It is the age of the internet and there is no disputing that! When people turn to Google to answer their simple questions, news is supplied to us in 140 characters or less, and every day there is a new site that pops us to give the world an alternative point of view.
Then it shouldn’t come as a surprise when Internet moguls start gobbling up print giants.
The head of Amazon, Jeff Bezos, has agreed to purchase the Washington Post newspaper for $250m (£163m). After being owned by the Graham family for over 80 years, they have finally released their hold over their media empire.
Print is dying all over the world, with advertisers turning to the online world and readers getting their news through their screens, it’s becoming harder and harder for the print giant to maintain it’s circulation.
Never the less, it looks like it has fallen into the right hands, Bezos is one of the sole reasons why Amazon is what it is today.
