The future is now, and the United Arab Emirates is more than ready to cope with it! Abu Dhabi’s most sustainable urban community, Masdar City, just launched a new tech start-up hub!

Tech Park is a new destination for start-ups that are focused on technology, sustainability, and digital economy. It is made entirely of recycled shipping containers. Quite a few projects these days have come from the idea of using recyclable materials and/or just coming up with creative ideas. It would come as no surprise to find that anyone reading this would be inspired and go in search of the best shipping container storage systems. There’s nothing wrong in taking inspiration from such good ideas. But be sure to put your own spin on it if this is the route you aim to go down. Companies in the strategic hub will receive funding and mentorship from the Catalyst, first start-up accelerator specializing in clean technology and sustainability in the Middle East Region.

The Tech Park overlooking Masdar Park and its offices; or containers, meets Masdar City’s super strict sustainability standards which significantly lowers embodied energy costs than regular offices. Current companies in the Tech Park include Safe City Group, De L’Arta, Solva Technologies, Mana Ventures, and Al-Hakeem Advanced Engineering Services.

“The launch of Tech Park marks an important milestone in Masdar City’s development. As a sustainable urban community with a rapidly growing clean-tech cluster and business free zone at its core, we are delighted to welcome the addition of Tech Park, the first destination of its type focused on innovation in the digital economy and sustainability,” said Yousef Baselaib, Executive Director for Sustainable Real Estate at Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company.

WE SAID THIS: Masdar City should be a role model of sustainability in the region!
