Egyptian Museums Offer Free Entrance for a Day in Celebration of 150-Year-Old Parliamentary Life
Egypt has about 50 museums showcasing antiquities from all eras that have shadowed over Om El Donya. All these museums are opening their doors for free entrance on Saturday, 22nd of October, celebrating the passing of 150 years on parliamentary life in Egypt. How cool is that?
Mostafa Amin, the Secretary General of the Higher Council for Antiquities has announced that this has come in line with the celebratory vibes the nation is going through and that it was necessary to take part in this iconic historical event, whether on the political or monumental level.
Amin also pointed out that the building of the house of representatives is a registered monument in the Coptic and Islamic Antiquities Meter with the Prime Minister’s decree 1237 in 1986. He explained that the main reason behind this decree of opening all museum doors for free is to raise the public’s historical and monumental awareness about this very important event in history.
