Mark Wahlberg to Star in Transformers 4

 Director Michael Bay said “an actor of his caliber is the perfect guy to re-invigorate the franchise and carry on the Transformers’ legacy”.

The pair have already worked together on forthcoming film Pain and Gain.

Transformers 4 is scheduled to be released by Paramount Pictures on 27 June, 2014.

Bay revealed the news in a post on his blog, after previously denying rumors that 41-year-old Wahlberg would star in the film.
