Souk El Akel: Porto Marina Turned into a Lebanese Food Heaven

Ahhh, Souk El Akel! A food festival that’s basically every foodie’s dream come true, it showcases Lebanon’s absolutely delicious culinary world that will make you go #nomnomnom.

The festival is basically traveling culinary feast that hops across Lebanon spreading love…and lots of food. Think of it as a way for local producers, cooks or chefs to show their mouthwatering food. Souk El Akel aims to bring people together through a shared love of great food and a sense of pride in their community, which is why we went crazy when we found out it’s coming to Egypt.

Where exactly? We obviously hunted down the smell of el akl el Lebnany to Porto Marina in Sahel last weekend. The festival migrated to Egypt for three days and fed us from the 11th till the 13th of August. Over 70 food professionals came all the way from Lebanon to set up 20 yummy food-stands. From fattoush to manouche, 3arayes and everything in between, we didn’t stop for three days. And to top everything of, superstar Amr Diab joined us on the second day for some 3awedoony, 3awedoony.
