Riyadh Season 7 is bringing some serious Egyptian star power to the stage, and the lineup is looking pretty entertaining. Think Ahmed Mekky and Ahmed Helmy getting into all sorts of trouble, Chico dealing with a case of mistaken identity, and Youssra tackling the chaos of modern family life. From laugh-out-loud comedies to stories about love, ambition, and family drama, there’s plenty to choose from. Here are the plays to know about, in date order.
1. Ana Mesh ‘Arefny
October 23 – November 1 | Location: Mohammed Al-Ali Theater
What happens when your past decides to make an uninvited appearance in your love life? Amr Youssef stars as Omar, whose hidden secrets threaten his relationship with his lover. His solution? An unconventional psychological treatment that sends him on a strange journey to confront his own flaws. Starring alongside Asmaa Galal, Youssef takes on a comedy that turns self-discovery into anything but a straightforward process.

2. Fe Hetta Tanya
Starts November 4 | Location: Bakr Al-Sheddi Theater
Ahmed Mekky and Mustafa Gharib take on the world of showbiz in Fe Hetta Tanya, which follows a playwright caught between the stories he wants to tell and the pressures that come with fame. It’s a look at what happens when chasing your dreams gets complicated by the industry’s expectations, and when success starts asking you to make a few compromises along the way.

3. Al Sada Al Aa’daa
Date: November 5-9 | Location: Mohammed Al-Ali Theater
We’ve all had arguments with ourselves, but imagine if your inner demons actually showed up in person. That’s the premise behind Al Sada Al Aa’daa, starring Akram Hosny and Bayoumi Fouad. When a scientific experiment turns Al-Kahlawi’s internal conflicts into real-life characters, he finds himself face-to-face with his own struggles. And no, there’s no simply ignoring them or leaving them on read.

4. Elmy ‘Oloom
Starts November 13 | Location: Mohammed Al-Ali Theater
Dina El Sherbiny swaps the usual showbiz formula for a rather unusual mission in Elmy ‘Oloom. The story follows a showgirl and her troupe as they transform into a team of scientists tasked with saving an international conference. It’s an unexpected career pivot, to say the least, and one that promises plenty of comedic chaos as the performers trade the spotlight for science.

5. El Dinosaur
Starts November 20 | Location: Bakr Al-Sheddi Theater
Ahmed Helmy is taking audiences on a satirical trip between the past and the future in El Dinosaur. At the heart of the comedy is a question that feels increasingly relevant: are we using technology to make our lives easier, or are we letting it run the show? Expect a playful take on the relationship between humans and technology, with plenty of room to poke fun at how far we’ve come — and what we might be losing along the way.

6. E’mel Ma’rouf
Starts November 23 | Location: Mohammed Al-Ali Theater
Chico’s character, Buda, has one goal: escape his debts. Unfortunately, his plan takes an unexpected turn when he stumbles into the life of a gangster who looks exactly like him. Suddenly, he’s caught up in a mess involving criminals, the police, and a case of mistaken identity that gets increasingly complicated. Because apparently, dodging your bills wasn’t stressful enough without accidentally inheriting someone else’s problems.

7. Prince El ‘Alam
Starts December 7 | Location: Mohammed Al-Ali Theater
Mohamed Emam steps into a world of royal intrigue in Prince El ‘Alam, playing a reckless young man whose life takes a turn when a conspiracy threatens his father’s throne. As he gets caught up in the fight for power, he begins to realise that being a leader takes more than a title or a royal family name. It’s a story about growing up, stepping up, and learning that ruling comes with responsibilities beyond wearing the crown.

8. Sok ‘Ala Wladak
Starts December 16 | Location: Bakr Al-Sheddi Theater
Esaad Younis stars in Sok ‘Ala Wladak, a family comedy about a mother who’s ready to turn the page and start a new chapter in her life. Her children, however, aren’t quite on board with her plans, setting off a chain of family disagreements and unexpected situations. At its heart, the play explores what happens when a mother decides to put herself first — and her children discover that they might not get the final say after all.

9. Elduetto
Starts December 22 | Location: Mohammed Al-Ali Theater
Love and art bring Majd and Yasmin together in Elduetto, starring Mai Ezz El-Din and Syrian actor Basel Khayat. There’s just one catch: their families’ rivalry threatens to get in the way of their relationship. What follows is a romantic comedy full of awkward encounters and family-fuelled complications, proving that sometimes the hardest part of a love story isn’t finding the right person; it’s dealing with everyone around you.

10. El-Omda
Starts December 24 | Location: Bakr Al-Sheddi Theater
Karim Abdel Aziz, Hannah El Zahed, and Mustafa Khater star in El-Omda, where an ordinary teacher finds himself impersonating an arms dealer for 48 hours. What could possibly go wrong? Quite a lot, presumably, when you’re pretending to be someone you’re not and trying to keep the act going. The premise sets the stage for a comedy packed with tense situations, close calls, and the kind of trouble that’s very difficult to explain away.

11. El Diva
Starts December 31 | Location: Mohammed Al-Ali Theater
Youssra rounds out the year with El Diva, playing a doctor on a mission to rescue her children from their social media obsession. Between screen-time battles and family surprises, the play takes a comedic look at the digital habits that have become part of everyday life. If getting your family to put their phones down feels like a full-time job, this one might hit a little too close to home.
