In celebration of International Women’s Day, we’ve rounded up the Egyptian dramas that have dared to tackle women’s issues head-on. These series have not only entertained audiences but also sparked important conversations, raised awareness, and challenged societal norms. Here are the shows that put women’s stories at the center and pushed for change.

El Set Monalisa

The series El Set Monalisa helped raise awareness about the many challenges women face daily, including domestic violence and life with an abusive husband. It also explored issues like blackmail and extortion, showing how Monalisa’s husband tries to coerce her into giving up her land. Beyond these struggles, the series highlights the societal pressures placed on women, how much they are expected to endure, and how much they are expected to give just to be accepted by society.
