Ramadan 2025 TV Moms Who’ve Got Us Hugging Our Own Mothers
Whether it’s the romance, the twists and turns that keep on turning, or the laugh-out-loud moments, the Ramadan shows marathon has officially kicked into high gear.
One thing we can’t get enough of, though, is family drama – and you can’t spell drama without mama. For better or worse, here’s a list of on-screen mothers that have caught our attention this season.
Dina El Sherbiny – Kamel El Adad ++
The epitome of mama bear. Dina El Sherbiny’s character, Laila on ‘Kamel El Adad++,’ is one that we simply can’t get enough of – which is why she came back for not two, but three seasons.
From the creative ways she goes about exposing her kids’ issues to, should we say, out-of-the-box solutions? Cause that passport fight with Sherif (Hamza Diab) was a doozy, if you ask us. Laila is all about protecting her kids, and that’s what truly matters.

Entsar – Esh Esh
This Ramadan season has many actors taking on the role of a belly dancer, but one that definitely captures our attention is Entsar’s portrayal of retired belly dancer Ekhlas Kaboreyah in ‘Esh Esh.’
She is a protective mother, and all she wants to do is keep her past buried and protect her daughters from it. It’s important to note that Entsar is also shining this month in ‘80 Bako,’ but Ekhlas just pulls on our heartstrings, one scene at a time.

Anoshka – W Teaabel Habib
Say goodbye to Kesmt in ‘Grand Hotel’ and hello to Eglal in ‘W Teaabel Habib’ cause that’s one mother who is not messing around. Anoshka is simply the queen of villainous mother roles, and by villainous, we mean borderline psychotic.
The ping-pong dialogue between Anoshka’s character and Lail (Yasmine Abdel Aziz) are scenes we need to keep coming. Wouldn’t hurt anyone, as she’s made of ‘glass’, after all.

Elham Shahine – Seed El Nas
Where do we start? Elham Shahine’s Etemad in ‘Seed El Nas’ has dethroned the evil queen! Giving a whole new take to the wicked stepmother portrayal, and we’re here for it.
Whether it’s with the death stares, the plotting to kill El Garhey (Amr Saad) or nursing her sons to hate him. It’s indeed a winning combo – with some even calling it Shahine’s TV comeback role.

Esaad Younis – Kamel El Adad ++
Esaad Younis has always been a shining star among the cast of Kamel El Adad’s seasons, and ‘Kamel El Adad++’ is no exception.
In fact, with the latest season, Hayat’s character sees more depth when she’s met with a stranger announced as her long-lost daughter. The grace and sense of humor she handles the situation with make us adore her even more. Hayat truly is the beating heart of the show and everyone’s mother.

Sawsan Badr – Athena
Taking out a whole chapter, not a page, from Greek mythology, Sawsan Badr in ‘Athena’ aces the assignment on what it means to be evil, cruel yet intriguingly vague.
In the college drama surrounding secrets unraveling in the world of the dark web, the character of Nawal El Saadawy is at the center of it all as she loses control of her university’s reputation.
Does she have something to do with these secrets spreading? Maybe and maybe not. Badr performs the role expertly that sometimes we don’t care about finding out.

As you make your way toward the end of the list, thank your mother for not being like Eglal and for nailing it in the mother department. Let us know which of your favorites are and if we missed any iconic mothers from this season.
