Poet Rupi Kaur Snubs White House’s Diwali Invitation Due To Biden’s Aid For Israel
The Indian and New York Times best-selling poet Rupi Kaur, has released a statement refusing Biden’s administration “White House” to attend the Diwali event because of Biden’s aid to Israel which is full blowing a Genocide in Gaza.

Kaur, 31 who is most known for two poetry collections “Milk & Honey”, and “The Sun and Her Flowers” posted on her X account that she received an invitation from the Biden Administration to attend a Diwali- a famous Hindu festival held annually- that was held yesterday, November 8 by the American vice president. In her statement, she says that the reason is her utter refute of Biden’s aid to the ongoing Genocide in Gaza.
Her two-page statement, she accuses the administration of double-standardness because in one way it is aiding and justifying Israel, and in the other, it is celebrating Diwali which as she says is essentially a celebration of “righteousness over falsehood, knowledge over ignorance.”

“As a Sikh woman, I will not allow my likeness to be used in whitewashing this administration’s actions. I refuse any invitation from an institution that supports the collective punishment of a trapped civilian population—50% of whom are children.” wrote Kaur.
Kaur has been actively posting about atrocities in Gaza. Generally, she is one of the most woke activists, never hesitating to voice concerns about human rights issues like women’s sexual assault, which was the reason why Mild & Honey was banned. She further stressed in her statement that in order for change to be seen, people need to stop fearing losing their jobs: “Let us sign petitions. Attend protests. Boycott. Call our reps and say—stop the genocide.
