For millennia, the Bedouin rode camels across the desert’s landscape of the Arabian Peninsula; to the people of the Persian Gulf, it was the most reliable means of transportation, and today, even though traveling by camels has become all but obsolete, it is still an integral part of the cultural heritage.

The United Arab Emirates still celebrates the camel in a number of races that take place between October and April. The camel racing season of the Emirates is an integral part of the Arab culture that attracts people from all over the region to participate with their camels and visitors come from all over the globe to witness the beautiful, heritage-rich event.
