This Emirati Charity Is Making the World a Better Place one Step at a Time

Nowadays, stories of kind considerate acts are rare to be found. It seems that even though our world has grown closer, we, as humans, have never been this distant. However, one Emirati charitable organization is here to remind us that at the end of the day, kindness is what helps us become better human beings.
In April 2019, the Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Charitable Educational Foundation received a case of five expatriate children, whom their father had abandoned three years ago. The helpless children and their mother were left in a foreign country all on their own, with a total of 15,700 AED of unsettled school fees.
For years, they had been looking for help, but no one cared enough to aid them, especially with the expiration of all their resident visas. However, the Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Foundation, after forming a specialized committee to study the case, has decided to pay out the children’s debt and transfer them to one of the charity-owned schools so that they would be able to continue their education without interruptions.
According to Khaleej Times, Sumaia Hareb Al-Suwaidi, Chairwoman of the foundation, said they were alerted about the plight of the five siblings by their grandfather. “In his petition, the grandfather explained that he was unable to pay the remaining installments of the children’s school fees. He said the father had flown to another country after abandoning his wife and kids.”
Their grandfather is unemployed and could not keep up with the school fees; he had resorted to the foundation, and fortunately, they have agreed to sponsor all five children and help the family throughout the upcoming years.
The purpose behind Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Foundation is to provide underprivileged children with better education and standard of life, regardless of their nationalities. The founders believe in society’s ability to come together through volunteering and donation to help those in need.
Furthermore, they sponsor several sustainable development projects investing in orphans and their families by providing equal opportunities, thus, help in making society a better, more accepting place.
