Meryl Streep Gives the Most Powerful Speech at Golden Globes 2017

The legendary Meryl Streep received the Cecil B. DeMille Award at the Golden Globes on Sunday night, and her speech shook the world. What started as a plea to accept and embrace the diversity of a multicultural Hollywood, ended as a direct slam to what Streep referred to as Donald Trump’s performance.

Streep described how it broke her heart that the Trump saga was not in a movie, asking everyone to join her in supporting the committee to protect journalists. “Disrespect invites disrespect. Violence incites violence,” must be the most on point statement we’ve heard recently and it is something not only Americans but people from all over the world can relate to right now.

CARRIE FISHER SAID THIS: Take your broken heart, make it into art.
